VR NORTH SEA

FLOOD 1953

Trailer VR North Sea Flood 1953

A VR experience (7 min.) that allows the viewer to witness the night of the catastrophic 1953 North Sea Flood. You follow the lives of farmer Jacob and the family of his brother Aaj; his wife Marietje and daughter Anna. With them, you experience the Goeree-Overflakkee region before, during and after the fatal arrival of the water.

For the North Sea Flood 1953 VR installation, Studio Maslow works with the Oculus Rift headmounted devices. The VR-experience combines a modelled 3D world with moving actors. Added to that there are point of view changes and temporality changes.

'VR Watersnoodramp 1953' has been selected for the Nederlands Film Festival competition for Best Interactive. It has also been exhibited at the VR Days Europe 2018.

'VR Watersnoodramp 1953' is on show at Streekmuseum Goeree-Overflakkee in Sommelsdijk. The installation can be used by two people at the same time.
